Chaka Khan
Chaka, or Queen of Funk as she is sometimes referred to she was an American recording musician. Her total number of Grammy awards is of ten Grammys throughout her lengthy career spanning over fifty years. Billboard named her the 65th-most popular dancer of all time. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz when she was a child. Her career began by being in different bands. Later on she was a part of the band Rufus. At the age of twenty the singer released her first album along in the band. The group won their first Grammy award a year later. Her self-titled debut album just a couple of years following her solo debut. Then she released a number of albums throughout the years, including 'Echoes of an Era The Woman I Am', and "Funk This". Also, she is known for the work she does for charity. Chaka Khan Foundation was established in order to aid children from low-income families and people with autism. Khan performs as an actor occasionally. She portrayed her character Sister Carrie who played the leading role in the musical "Mama, I'd Like To Sing'.
